Crucible of Storms items all come with a special effect of some kind, keeping the loot interesting and unique. We’re going to take a look at all of the healer gear and judge which are worth wearing and which still need work before the patch goes live. All healing specs welcome.
Improving your mana management is one of the number one ways to improve as a healer and you’ll notice your numbers skyrocket if you manage it correctly. We’re going to look at how efficient each of our spells are so we know which ones to cast more and which to cast less. We’ll also look at mana restoring trinkets, traits and potions.
Battle for Dazar’alor adds four new healing trinket and at the moment they’re a big ol’ mixed bag. Let’s look at each in more detail.
Abundance vs Cenarion Ward (And Why Prosperity is a Mistake) Resto druid dungeon talents have never been as competitive as they are in BFA. In Legion the Abundance / Germ / Flourish build was such an obvious optimal set of talents that we never really saw much variation. We didn’t need it – our core build excelled at everything and the alternatives were usually magnitudes […]
Antorus: The Burning Throne adds 7 new healing trinkets across 11 bosses and there’s plenty of variety; however, our options might be limited due to the power of the Pantheon trinkets that drop off Argus himself (herself? Itself?). Blizzard have otherwise done a fantastic job balancing the Antorus trinkets and almost all of them are at least ‘pretty good’. Weak Auras are included where advantageous.
In 7.2.5 Blizzard introduced a new system of RNG into the game, featuring it on several legendary items and a trinket. It was accompanied by a brief explanation in a Reddit developer AMA. It’s designed to smooth out your luck, making chance-based items much more consistent at the cost of the huge streaks you can achieve with pure chance. Think of it as ‘Good luck […]
UPDATE: Trinket numbers were adjusted again with the live patch. All values contained within have been similarly updated. Tomb of Sargeras adds six new healer trinkets across nine bosses and the effects vary wildly. In Nighthold we got one great (Map), one situationally powerful (Cake), one class dependent (Paradox), and one outright terrible (Mirror) trinket. They almost all received immediate buffs a week into the patch. […]
The 7.2 legendary changes are now live. Some of the changes are quite significant (shoulders) while others are smaller and just push items further into their niche. Some brief information on each is included below, and this post will change if any new theorycrafting is done. The changes can be found here. The Legendary Tier List has also been updated for 7.2 and can be […]
With 7.3 epic gems were added to the expansion which invalidates some of the numbers here. Hopefully it’s still an interesting read. Every class seems to have a rough ‘rule of thumb’ when asked what a socket is worth. Ask your friend what a socket is worth for them on say, a helm. What did they say? 5-10 ilvl? Let’s get a little more precise. […]
Update: You can find a trinket breakdown for Tomb of Sargeras trinkets here. In my last post, I calculated the value of the PTR versions of the four Nighthold trinkets and decided they weren’t really up to scratch. This wasn’t a new feeling for us since the trinkets in the Emerald Nightmare were also very weak (looking at you Horn of Cenarius!) and so we’d resigned […]
