Season 2 Raids

Midnight Season 2 introduces two new raids.

• Venomous Abyss: An 8 boss raid with standard difficulties.
• Tidebound Grotto: A single boss instance with world difficulty tiers, including Flex Mythic.

The following guides are designed around Heroic, with brief snippets at the bottom on Mythic mechanics. The strategies within will work on Normal mode as well with reduced mechanics – it’s always good to practice good habits!

Boss Guides​

The Venomous Abyss​

The Venomous Abyss is a new 8 boss raid. The raid opens on Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties on August 18th.

The Tidebound Grotto​

The Tidebound Grotto is a new 1 boss raid. The raid opens on World Difficulty (equivalent to a World Boss) on August 11th and will feature a special solo-queue system accessible when attempting to enter the instance. On Aguust 18th, it will release on Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties. Unlike usual raid instances that allow 20 players in Mythic difficulty, this lair will allow a Flex Mythic Raid of 15-25 players.

Raid Information​

The raids include 4 tiers of item level, increasing its starting base level as you progress.

• Tier 1 (Early Boss): Nek'zali, Nymrissa Wavecaller - 305 IL (1/6H) loot from Heroic.
• Tier 2 (Middle Bosses): Entombed Sentinels, The Lost Explorers - 308 (2/6H) IL loot from Heroic.
• Tier 3 (Late Bosses): Vashnik, Sszorak, The Twin Fangs - 311 IL (3/6H) loot from Heroic.
• Tier 4 (End Bosses): The Coiled Altar, Ula'tek - 315 IL (4/6) loot from Heroic.

Tier 4 bosses also drop additional crests at one track higher than their difficulty (so mythic crests from heroic).

Bonus rolling a Heroic boss will result in a 318 IL (1/6M) piece of gear from that boss.

Tier Pieces​

Your set bonus gear can be acquired from the following Venomous Abyss bosses. They drop tokens for each armor type (cloth, leather, mail, plate).

• The Twin Fangs (Head)
• Ula'tek (Curio - Any Slot)
